Will Columbia buses run during storms from Tropical Storm Irma?
High winds spawned by Tropical Irma might ground COMET buses later Monday.
As of 9 a.m., service was running normally, according to Ann August, interim executive director of the Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority.
That will continue “until we get to the point where we can’t,” she said.
Persistent gusts exceeding 25 mph will force buses to idle as a precaution against them being blown over, she said.
