VC Summer Nuclear Station testing sirens Tuesday afternoon
Residents of Newberry and Fairfield counties will hear sirens from the VC Summer Nuclear Station Tuesday at 1 p.m. as the station runs its annual full-cycle siren tests.
According to a statement released by the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office, the annual tests will be conducted at full volume and may be heard by citizens in the 10-mile emergency planning zone for a full three minutes.
Both citizens and onsite personnel are not expected to take any actions during the tests.
