Injuries reported in crash involving Richland County patrol car

The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating a collision involving a Richland County patrol car.

The collision happened around 2:40 p.m. Thursday on Two Notch Road at Bookman Road, according to the Highway Patrol.

The patrol car was traveling north on Two Notch Road and a white Chrysler 300 was traveling south when the collision happened, said Lance Cpl. David Jones of the Highway Patrol. The Chrysler was turning left onto Bookman Road when it was struck on the passenger side by the patrol car.

The driver of the Chrysler was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Jones said. The deputy was not transported.

Jones said it was not clear if the deputy was responding to a call at the time of the crash.

No charges have been filed, and the crash remains under investigation.
