Lexington County man killed in collision with tractor trailer

A 72-year-old man was killed Friday morning when his car collided with a tractor trailer.

Louis Connelley, of Swansea, died in the crash that happened around 10 a.m. Friday, according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.

Connelley was driving on Highway 321 toward Gaston when he struck the side of a tractor trailer that was crossing the highway on Glenn Road, Fisher said in a news release.

Connelley was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, Fisher said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
