1 killed in Midlands after train collides with vehicle
A 45-year-old Columbia delivery truck driver died Friday morning in a collision with a train near Blythewood.
Michael Murphy, of West Grove Court, was driving over tracks at Farrow and Wooten roads when the collision threw him from the truck, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said Friday afternoon after an autopsy.
The incident took place in the 1000 block of Wooten Road near Farrow Road around 8:30 a.m., according to a social media post by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
The incident remains under investigation.
