Lexington County man killed in Friday collision

A 33-year-old Lexington man was identified Friday as the person who died in a collision on Calks Ferry Road.

Ronnie M. Prioleau, Jr. died at the scene of the 7 a.m. collision, Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said.

Prioleau’s vehicle crossed the center line on the 1100 block of the road as he was traveling west and struck an on-coming driver, the coroner said.

Neither Prioleau nor the other driver was wearing a seat belt, Fisher said. But the surviving driver’s injuries are not life-threatening. That driver was taken to a hospital.

The state Highway Patrol is investigating the collision, she said.
