Well, g’day, joey! One of Riverbanks’ newest little residents is venturing outside
One of Riverbanks Zoo’s newest residents, a baby koala (called a joey) born six months ago, has begun venturing outside its mother’s pouch recently.
The zoo posted photos on its Facebook page Friday morning showing the tiny joey peeping over its mother’s head.
It’s grown quite a lot, from about the size of a jellybean, since it was born six months ago. Until recently, it’s stayed hidden inside mom Lottie’s pouch.
Lottie and her joey are on display at the zoo, where you can catch a glimpse of them in their habitat.
