Big Vista traffic weekend

Planning a trip to downtown Columbia Friday or Saturday? Here’s a heads up – traffic could be challenging.

Multiple graduations Friday and Saturday at the University of South Carolina and Saturday’s Columbia Black Expo will make for busy traveling around the USC campus and the Vista both days.

USC will hold graduation ceremonies at 9 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Friday at various on-campus locations including Colonial Life Arena, 801 Lincoln St. Three more graduations are set for 9:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday.

Columbia Black Expo will run all day Saturday at Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln St., adjacent to Colonial Life Arena.

USC will provide special parking and shuttle arrangements for it graduation events. For details, visit commencement.sc.edu and click the FamilyFriends tab and then the Day of the Event tab.
