Lexington County motorists should expect delays during ninth annual sheriff’s foundation 5k road race

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Foundation will host its ninth annual 5 kilometer road race in the Gibson Road area on Saturday and is warning weekend motorists to expect delays and road closures during the race.

However many roads, with the exception of Gibson Road, will not require complete closures. The race is scheduled to begin at 6:30 a.m. and last until 10 a.m. Anyone planning to travel for weekend activities should take the closures and delays into consideration.

Law enforcement officers will be present to control traffic in the area, both to ensure the safety of all race participants, and to assist motorists.
