Motorcyclist injured in crash on I-126 in Columbia

All lanes heading into Columbia from I-126 are back open after a crash involving a motorcycle closed traffic at Elmwood Avenue Monday morning.

The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. Monday morning, according to the Columbia Police Department.

The accident occurred on I-126 just before Huger Street and Elmwood Avenue split, police said. A motorcycle rider suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital for scrapes and a broken leg, according police department.

The Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
