Bridge work disrupts traffic on I-95 southbound

Work on the I-95, US 301 interchange near Santee, SC will disrupt southbound traffic Wednesday and Thursday overnight.

Eleven 40-ton steel girders will be put in place in the overpass requiring the right-hand lane of southbound traffic to be closed from 10 to 15 minutes at each placement.

Drivers on I-95 south should anticipate some traffic delays during the overpass work starting around 7 pm each night.

To minimize the impact of the work on the motoring public, it is being done mostly during the overnight hours, SCDOT said in a news release.
