Traffic moving again after West Columbia multi-car crash closes lanes; several hurt
Traffic is moving again after a multi-car crash shut down two lanes on U.S. 1 in West Columbia this morning.
The crash happened around 10 a.m. on the 3000 block of U.S. 1, which also is known as Augusta Road, according to Assistant Chief Scott Morrison of the West Columbia Police Department. That’s near Methodist Park Road, not far from Interstate 20.
Details about the collision were not immediately available, but Morrison said the collision involved several vehicles and that several people are injured.
Both eastbound lanes were blocked but have since reopened, police said.
