45 people displaced by Forest Acres apartment blaze

Nearly four dozen people were displaced after fire ripped through a Forest Acres apartment building Wednesday night.

The fire happened around 10:30 p.m. at The Landings at Forest Acres, just off North Beltline Boulevard, according to the Columbia Fire Department. No injuries have been reported.

The American Red Cross said in a release Thursday morning that it is assisting 45 people displaced by the fire, including seven children.

Investigators are trying to determine what sparked the blaze, which spread across the top floor of the 16-unit building, according to the fire department.
