Pedestrian hit and killed by tractor-trailer in Lexington County
A Lexington man was hit and killed by a tractor-trailer early Tuesday, according to coroner’s officials.
The deadly incident happened just after midnight on the 4200 block of U.S. 178 in Batesburg-Leesville, according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.
The victim, identified as 47-year-old Tommy Wade Goss of Lexington, was in the roadway when he was hit by the truck, Fisher said. He died at the scene from his injuries.
The truck driver was not injured, Fisher said. The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating.
