Fort Mill Police Department

A 16-year-old boy who was reported missing last week returned home late Monday, police said.

David Morrison was safe and not hurt when he went home to his family’s Elliot Street residence around 9 p.m. Monday, said Maj. Bryan Zachary of the Fort Mill Police Department.

Morrison returned on his own, Zachary said.

Morrison had last been seen by his family on Jan. 18, Zachary said. He had just had an argument with his mother before he left the home, police say.

Police said Morrison has autism but is high-functioning.

He was reportedly seen at Nation Ford High School at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 19. Morrison is a junior at the school., according to a post on a school social media page. He was also seen at a Waffle House in Fort Mill on Saturday and he was with a young female, workers there said.

No other information about where Morrison was for the three-plus days he was missing, or whom he was with. Fort Mill police are continuing to investigate, Zachary said.
