Take that, Tom Brady. Riverbanks Zoo sea lion makes his Super Bowl pick
It’s official! One of Riverbanks Zoo and Garden’s residents thinks he knows who is going to win this year’s Super Bowl.
Maverick, a 6-year-old California sea lion, sounded off Friday morning on Sunday’s clash between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams.
Zoo staff used red footballs with each team’s logos to help Maverick make his decision. After the balls were tossed into Maverick’s enclosure, the sea lion sprung eagerly for The Rams’ football.
Maverick is known to cheer against The Patriots. Last year, he picked The Eagles — correctly — to win the year’s biggest game.
