Army sergeant charged in deaths of 2 Fort Jackson soldiers to go on trial
An Army sergeant charged in the 2017 deaths of two young Fort Jackson soldiers will go on trial next week.
Staff Sgt. Andrew C. Marrow is charged with one count of dereliction of duty and two counts of negligent homicide related to the Oct. 6, 2017, crash that killed 19-year-old Pvt. Ethan Shrader and 18-year-old Pvt. Timothy Ashcraft, according to Fort Jackson spokeswoman Leslie Ann Sully.
Half a dozen other soldiers were injured that day when a military vehicle crashed into a group of recruits who were marching back to their barracks after a day of training, Army officials have said.
Marrow’s court martial will begin Monday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m. at Fort Jackson.
