Get you some mountain music: Alabama is coming to Columbia

Two country music legends will take the stage in Columbia this fall.

Alabama will perform Oct. 3 at Colonial Life Arena, with special guests The Charlie Daniels Band, the arena announced Monday morning.

In the 50 years since starting the band, Alabama has charted 43 No. 1 singles, including 21 No. #1 singles in a row, and have won nearly 180 Country Music Association awards, Grammy Awards and Academy of Country Music awards.

The Charlie Daniels Band is perhaps most well known for its 1979 class “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” which won a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group. The band has been nominated for two other Grammys and has picked up Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association awards.

Tickets forthe Alabama 50th Anniversary Tour go on sale to the general public Friday at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com or at the Lexington Medical Center box office at the arena.
