Driver ejected in deadly crash in northeast Richland County
One person was killed in a Monday morning crash in northeast Richland County, according to troopers.
The deadly happened around 9:30 a.m. on Percival Road, according to Lance Cpl. David Jones of the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Richland County Coroner Gary Watts confirmed there was a fatality.
The crash involved one car, the driver of which was ejected and died, Jones said. Additional details about the crash, including what caused it, were not immediately available.
The identity of the deceased will be released by the coroner’s office after the next of kin is notified.
Before Monday’s deadly crash, there had been 11 traffic deaths in Richland County this year, according to numbers released Monday by the S.C. Department of Public Safety. That matches the number of fatalities at this time last year.
