To find a local treatment center, you can use the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s locator or the South Carolina Department of Mental Health’s directory of Midlands clinics. On the locators, you can filter centers by distance, payment or insurance type, type of care, age group, treatment focus, gender and languages spoken.
Some centers offer a sliding scale fee, which is calculated based on income and other factors, and might make treatment more affordable. The state department of mental health will provide service at any of its clinics, even if you can’t pay.
If you are concerned about a friend, family member or loved one, you can learn the risk factors and take action. The SC Department of Mental Health can be reached at 833-364-2274 any day, any time.
