Lexington church cancels “The Duggars” August appearance

A church in Lexington has canceled a planned appearance by the Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar following the recent news of their son's sexual abuse scandal.

“After much prayer and thoughtful consideration, we have decided to cancel our August 2 event with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar,” according to a statement on the Lexington Baptist Church website. “We are praying for the entire Duggar family and everyone involved in this heartbreakingly difficult situation.”

The church will issue a full refund within the next week for anyone who purchased a ticket online, according to the statement. Anyone who purchased a ticket in person should return it to the church during regular business hours for a full refund.
