Expect delays on I-77 after tractor-trailer broke in 2 pieces, SC troopers say
Motorists traveling on Interstate 77 Wednesday afternoon should expect delays while crews clear the roadway after a truck and trailer separated.
It happened in the northbound lanes of I-77 at mile marker 16, according to Lance Cpl. David Jones of the S.C. Highway Patrol. That’s just north of Interstate 20.
The trailer portion of a tractor-trailer broke in two pieces, Jones said on Twitter. Crews are working to clear the roadway of the truck, trailer and debris, but motorists should expect delays for several hours.
Only one of three northbound lanes is open, Jones said.
There was no word on injuries, or on what caused the trailer to break in two.
