A Columbia couple is heading into summer $250,000 richer after winning a lottery game.

The man purchased the Money Plus ticket from the SKS Mart at Decker Boulevard and Percival Road in Columbia, and brought the ticket home to show his wife, according to a release from the S.C. Education Lottery.

The bottom row of the ticket was scratched away, revealing a prize of $250,000, according to the release.

“When I saw $250 and the zeros were still coming, I didn’t scratch anymore,” the man, who is not being identified, told lottery officials in Columbia when he cashed in the ticket. “When I won, I could see all the things I’ve needed to get done, getting done.”

Four top prizes of $250,000 remain in the $10 Money Plus game, with odds of 1 in 660,000, according to the Education Lottery.
