Traffic backed up for several miles after multiple crashes on I-20 in Richland County
Traffic is backed up several miles on Interstate 20 after multiple crashes close to each other Thursday morning, troopers say.
The S.C. Highway Patrol is reporting three crashes in the westbound lanes of I-20 in Richland County: at mile marker 65, between Monticello Road and Broad River Road, and at Broad River Road.
Traffic in the westbound lanes is backed up six or seven miles, according to Lance Cpl. David Jones of the Highway Patrol. It’s moving but very slowly, he said. Motorists should expect delays.
S.C. Department of Transportation traffic maps show traffic backed up in the westbound lanes of I-20 from Broad River Road to S.C. 277.
Minor injuries have been reported, Jones said.
There are no crashes in the eastbound lanes, but traffic is still moving slowly there, Jones said.
