Lexington man hit and killed by car in storage facility parking lot, coroner says
A Lexington man died after being hit by a car in the parking lot of a storage facility Wednesday, according to the coroner.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the victim Thursday morning as 24-year-old Evan E. Bowersox, of Lexington.
The deadly incident happened just after 8 p.m. Wednesday in Chapin, Fisher said. Bowersox was hit by a vehicle in the gravel parking lot of a storage facility.
The name and location of the storage facility were not immediately available.
Bowersox was pronounced dead on arrival at an area hospital, Fisher said. The driver of the vehicle, who was not injured, and others at the scene tried to render aid to Bowersox.
The incident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
