Victim of Christmas Eve crash in Lower Richland identified by coroner

A woman died on Christmas Eve while on the road in Lower Richland, according to authorities.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts identified the victim of the crash as Abrianna Anderson of Serendipity Court in Hopkins. She was 28 years old.

Anderson was driving on Garners Ferry Road Tuesday at midday when her car collided with another vehicle, Watts said. The wreck happened near the intersection of Garners Ferry Road and Trotter Road about three miles from Anderson’s home.

Paramedics took Anderson to Prisma Health Richland Hospital where she died just after 5 p.m.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating the collision.

Family and friends expressed shock and sadness on social media over the death of Anderson, who went by Bre to her friends.

Funeral arrangements for Anderson are being handled by Myers Mortuary & Cremation Services. No funeral service dates have been announced.
