Missing couple found safe after failing to return to Lexington senior care facility

The search for a couple that didn’t return to their assisted living facility Tuesday night, ended when they were found a day later, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department said.

After 10 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff’s department said Ronald and Mary Denny had been located in Horry County.

The couple is safe, the sheriff’s department said on Twitter.

The husband and wife had not been seen since they went out for dinner at about 5 p.m., according to a tweet. They are residents at Lakeside Place Senior Living in Lexington, Capt. Adam Myrick told The State.

Ronald is 83, and Mary is 82, Myrick tweeted.

Surveillance video showed the Dennys leaving a restaurant near the Walmart Supercenter in Red Bank after 6:30 p.m., the sheriff’s department tweeted. That’s near the intersection of South Lake Drive and Platt Springs Road, less than a mile from White Knoll High School.

That’s about eight miles from the senior living facility.

Mary Denny has memory issues and both require medication for other medical conditions, Myrick said.

Information on how the Dennys ended up in Horry County was not available.
