130 lose power in downtown Columbia late Monday morning

Around 130 in downtown Columbia were lost power for about 15 minutes late Monday morning, according to Emily Brady, SCANA senior public affairs specialist.

Less than 20 are without power in Richland County, according to an outage map on the SCE&G website around 11:30 a.m. Service was restored around noon.

The outages were due to vegetation growing into equipment, Brady said. This underscores all of the tree trimming we do through out the year.
