Missing teen found safe in another state, Richland County sheriff says

A search for a missing Columbia teenager ended when he was found in another state, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday.

Jayden Miller was safe when he was located in Alabama, the sheriff’s department said in a news release.

The 16-year-old was last seen Aug. 1 at his home on Legion Drive, the sheriff’s department said. That’s not far from the intersection of Clemson Road and Summit Parkway.

The sheriff’s department was worried Miller could be in danger because of a medical condition that could threaten his life if he was not found quickly, according to the release.

Further information on the condition was not available.

The sheriff’s department thanked the public for its help in finding the teen.

Information was not available if Jayden was alone, or about where he was found at least 400 miles away in Alabama.
