Columbia’s heat wave goes on

Yes, it’s hot. Again. Still.

Forecasts call for 100-degree highs again Wednesday and Thursday, after Columbia didn’t quite hit 100 degrees Tuesday.

Emergency experts are advising people to stay indoors, drink plenty of water – not just caffeinated drinks – and look out for pets and elderly family members and neighbors.

The best chances of rain in the next few days come Wednesday night and Thursday during the day, when there is a 30 percent to 40 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms. Friday night could see a 50 percent chance of rain.

Saturday could be cooler, with a high of only 92, and a whopping 60 percent chance of thunderstorms.

Water your outdoor plants well. And do a rain dance for your lawn.
