Boil water advisory issued for some addresses near Dutch Square

A broken 8 inch water main has prompted the Columbia Water Works to issues a boil water advisory for some customers near Dutch Square.

Residents and businesses on Bakersfield Road from Morninghill Drive to Dutch Square Blvd, all of Statler Road, Springwell Rd, Glen Oaks Road, Shirlington Road, Tyeu Trail & Diamond Lane are included in the advisory area as well as anyone living near these streets who experience a drop or loss of water pressure.

Anyone in the affected area should vigorously boil any water planned for consumption or making ice for at least 60 seconds before use.

The broken water main raises the risk of bacterial contamination of the water supply.
