SC’s Riverbanks Zoo offering free tickets for getting COVID vaccine at weekend event

South Carolina visitors at Riverbanks Zoo can get free admission for one year if they get vaccinated against COVID-19 at the zoo’s upcoming event.

On Saturday, the Columbia-area zoo will offer free vaccinations to anyone 12 and older, according to a statement about the event.

Attendees ages 12 and older will be able to get the Pfizer vaccine and adults will have the option to get the one-dose Johnson & Johnson shot or the Moderna vaccine. Attendees will also be able to get their second dose of the vaccine if they’ve already received one, and those eligible for a booster will be offered it.

Visitors who get vaccinated at the event will get a general admission pass to the zoo, which will be good for one year. The zoo is also giving out plush toys while supplies last to those participating in the vaccination event.

The event will last from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
