The Lexington Police Department said a student who walked out of River Bluff High School and made threats of self-harm on Thursday was found safe.

The student walked out of the school and into nearby woods, the department said. He was hiding in the woods and walked out to first responders, the department said.

The department put out a call for help finding the student at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday. He was wearing a black t-shirt and gray shorts, the department said.
