One person dies, two injured in Richland County collision

One person died and two were injured in a collision Sunday in eastern Richland County.

Master Cpl. Nicholas Pye of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said two SUVs collided around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Harmon Road and Mt. Elon Church Road.

A 2010 Honda SUV was traveling eastbound on Harmon and a 2002 Chevrolet SUV was traveling southbound when the collision occurred. The incident is still under investigation as to who was at fault.

Both drivers were transported to the hospital. The person who died was a passenger in the Honda.

The coroner’s office could no be reached for comment on the identity of the deceased.
