Did you win? SC lottery game hits lucky 7s for first time, with hundreds of winners

Sevens are known to be lucky, but never has 7–7–7–7 been drawn in South Carolina lottery history.

Until today.

The Pick 4 numbers were drawn at lunchtime Tuesday, and in the words of lottery officials, it was to “the delight of a record number of Pick 4 winners.”

A whopping 1,400 straight-play tickets won with that combination, for a total payout of $3.5 million, a record prize payout for the lottery.

“Depending on the price paid for the ticket, these Pick 4 winners took home either $2,500 or $5,000 per play,” the lottery said in a statement.

The odds of winning Pick 4 with a straight play are 1 in 10,000. Players have 180 days from Tuesday to claim their prize.
