Midlands man killed in crash, thrown from the car. He was found a day later

A 62-year-old Lugoff man died in the woods off Black River Road in Camden when his SUV ran off the road and flipped, ejecting him.

Kershaw County Coroner David West identified the man as Ronald B. Fleming. West said Fleming was last seen Sunday night at a car show. The SUV was found on Monday afternoon.

West said EMS and Kershaw County Fire Service personnel responded to a 911 call about the car being found in the woods at 2:16 p.m. Monday. The man, who was not wearing a seat belt, was dead when they found him.

West said the man left the car show on Black River Road around 6:30 p.m.

“It appears he lost control of the SUV and ran off the left side of the road,” West said.
