Lexington, SC man dies after rear-ending a tractor trailer truck on I-20
A 61-year-old Lexington man died Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 20 when his vehicle struck the back of a tractor trailer.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the man as Sahib Singh Cheema, who was traveling eastbound when his vehicle went off the right side of the interstate near mile marker 40 and struck the truck.
Cheema, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, Fisher said.
Mile marker 40 is near Gilbert.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured, Fisher said.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
