Some roads in Lexington will be closed this weekend for the Lexington County Veterans Day parade.

The town police department announced that West Butler Street will close between Columbia Avenue and North Church Street at 1 p.m. Sunday. Haygood Street and parts of Meetze Street will also close as a staging area for the parade.

At 2:45 p.m., West Main Street will close between Columbia Avenue and North Lake Drive, along with South Lake Drive to Fort Street. Officers will be stationed to direct traffic to detour routes.

At 3 p.m., the parade will travel from Haywood down Main Street to Lake Drive and Fort Street, going passed the Lexington County Veterans Monument near Virginia Hylton Park.

West Main and South Lake will reopen around 4:30 p.m., while West Butler between Columbia and South Church will remain closed until all floats and parade participants are cleared from the roadway.

Public parking for the parade is available at the town municipal complex, the county administration building and the courthouse, as well as grass parking spaces on South Church Street.
