Lexington man killed in motorcycle accident

A Lexington man was killed in a motorcycle accident near Red Bank in Lexington County Friday, officials say.

Michael Miller, 49, was killed in the accident which occurred around 1:50 a.m. in the 700 block of Longs Pond Road, Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said in a statement released Friday.

Miller was traveling eastbound when he lost control of his 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet, Fisher said.

Miller was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.

The Lexington County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate.
