Police looking for help in locating Sumter runaway

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a 15-year-old Sumter resident who was last seen shortly after midnight Thursday.

Kalaje Chiles was last seen at her home on Cannery Road in Sumter County Thursday night, sheriff’s office spokesman Braden Bunch said in a statement released Friday.

Chiles was reported to have run away from home in a separate incident two months ago, Bunch said. In the April incident, Chiles was eventually found at a residence about 20 miles from her home.

Chiles is described as a white female standing 5 foot 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 112 pounds. She has brown hair and hazel eyes.
