Authorities seeking tips on deadly Columbia hit-and-run

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s help on a recent deadly hit-and-run incident.

According to a Wednesday release from the Highway Patrol, the incident happened at 11:09 p.m. Nov. 17 on Two Notch Road near Nates Road in Columbia. That’s just north of Interstate 20 and just south of Interstate 77.

Officers said they are looking for the driver of a light-colored four-door vehicle with a paper tag. The vehicle hit a pedestrian in the roadway and left the scene without stopping. The vehicle headed north toward I-77 after the incident. The pedestrian died as a result of the collision.

The State has reached out to the Richland County Coroner’s Office about the identity of the deceased.

The Highway Patrol said the vehicle involved may have damage near the passenger side headlight and/or passenger side front bumper and hood area.
