Moving van lodged under Columbia bridge, downtown traffic rerouted

Whaley Street near Assembly Street was shut down Saturday afternoon after a moving van collided with a train trestle and became lodged under the bridge.

Columbia police responded to the scene around 12:30 p.m. and redirected traffic away from the obstruction, according to a tweet from the department’s Twitter account.

No injuries were reported..
