The Donut Guy, long a favorite food truck at the Soda City Market, has set the soft opening date for its brick-and-mortar store in Columbia’s Vista entertainment district.

The new shop will open Monday, Jan. 17, at 7 a.m. at 1215 Lincoln St. in the heart of the Vista. That was formerly a location of The Peanut Man. The Donut Guy recently shared the soft opening date on its social media channels.

The Donut Guy has long been a mainstay of the popular Saturday morning Soda City Market on Main Street, where it has offered artisan mini-donuts, elephant ears, funnel cakes and more from its distinctive bright yellow food truck.

Now it is expanding its business to the brick-and-mortar location in the Vista, and the shop indicated on social media that it is ready to go.

“Can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on just for ‘YOU!’” the shop exclaimed in a Facebook post announcing its Jan. 17 soft opening date, which will be on the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.
