You can now get a taste of Atlanta, and a taste of the sea, in Lexington County.

Tasty Wings & Seafood opened a new location at 1787 S. Lake Drive in Lexington, near Red Bank, late last month. The spot is in the Colonnade at White Knoll shopping center, just north of Platt Springs Road.

There are three other Tasty Wings & Seafood spots in the Midlands: one on Killian Road in Columbia, another on Augusta Road in West Columbia, and one on Garners Ferry Road in Columbia. The locations are part of a restaurant group that also has several A-Town Wings restaurants in the Augusta area.

The warm air inside the Lexington Tasty Wings & Seafood location was permeated with the pleasant aroma of seafood, chicken and more when a reporter from The State visited on a recent chilly afternoon. The restaurant has a deep menu that includes what it bills as “Atlanta-style” chicken wings. It has numerous flavors of wings, including lemon pepper, garlic pepper, hot Parmesan and teriyaki, among others.

The restaurant also has burgers, Philly steak sandwiches and chicken tenders. And it has a seafood menu that includes a shrimp boil, crab legs boil, clam boil and more.

“I think our seafood is the best in Columbia,” co-owner Kevin Chen told The State. “It’s fresh cooking. It’s our specialty.”

Chen said he has worked in the restaurant business for about 15 years. He said he’s been enthused by the response to the new spot in Lexington County.

“We love Lexington County and this location,” he said. “The customers at this location have been very, very good.”
