Planning a party? It looks like you’re going to get a new place to pick up supplies along Garners Ferry Road.

Party City, the national chain that specializes in decorations and accessories for parties of all types, is prepping a new location at 6090 Garners Ferry Road in Columbia in the Shoppes at Woodhill shopping center, in the unit that previously housed Pier 1 Imports.

When a reporter from The State recently visited the site, there was a city of Columbia building permit on the door that cited Party City as the coming tenant. Renovation work was going on inside.

The State has reached out to Party City for a time frame of when the location might open. The news of the Garners Ferry Road location was first reported by The Post and Courier.

Party City is known for its wide array of party decorations and festive party goods, and it is often a go-to spot for Halloween costumes in the fall. There are two other Party City locations in Columbia; one on Harbison Boulevard and another near Columbia Place Mall.

The Shoppes at Woodhill off Garners Ferry Road is anchored by a Target store and has a number of other notable tenants, including Bed Bath & Beyond, World Market, Chipotle, Starbucks and more.
