Burger time: Lexington is getting a new Freddy’s restaurant. Check out where it will be
Things are going to get a bit tastier near downtown Lexington.
Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is planning a new location in Lexington, according to a release from commercial real estate firm Colliers South Carolina.
The restaurant will be along East Main Street near Swartz Road. Colliers said it represented Freddy’s in the purchase of 2.5 acres there.
“We are excited to continue to expand our footprint as we have been successful in competing with established chains in the area,” Freddy’s franchise owner Brett Rickert said in the release. “We are super excited with sales and the market share we have captured.”
Freddy’s has stores across the nation, and there are already three locations in the Midlands: One on Killian Road in Columbia, one on Sunset Boulevard in West Columbia, and one on Broad River Road in Irmo.
The restaurant chain is known for, among other things, its cooked-to-order steakburgers, shoestring fries and frozen custard desserts that are made with freshly churned chocolate or vanilla custard.
“Freddy’s has been very successful in our market as a new quick-service restaurant and has made its mark with its frozen custard and signature cooked-to-order burgers,” Colliers’ senior brokerage associate Mary Winter Teaster said in the release.
The Colliers release did not specify a time frame for when the restaurant might open.
