Columbia area gets a new ‘apartment-style’ hotel. Here’s where it is and what it offers
Visitors to the Midlands now have a new hotel to consider in the Irmo area.
The 75-room stayAPT Suites recently opened at 851 Columbiana Drive in Irmo. That’s just north of Lake Murray Boulevard. The hotel noted in a news release that it offers apartment-style, “residential-inspired” suites with full-sized kitchens and appliances, with dedicated living rooms and a separate bedroom.
New stayAPT Suites locations opened in Greenville and Greer in 2021. The location on Columbiana Drive is a short drive to the restaurants, shops and theaters in the busy Harbison district, and less than 2 miles from Prisma Health Baptist Parkridge Hospital.
“We are excited to bring our unique hotel concept to Columbia,” stayAPT Suites President and CEO Gary A. DeLapp said in a statement. “This area has much to offer both its residents and guests — from a vibrant culture to its diverse and thriving business community. We look forward to providing Columbia travelers with an all-around better hotel experience.”
The stayAPT Suites company is headquartered in North Carolina. It is aiming to open 20 hotels by the end of 2022, with an additional 15 in the planning stages.
