$4 gas prices breaking your wallet? Try these 5 gas reward programs in Columbia
With gas prices skyrocketing to record levels and no end in sight, local motorists on a budget need all the help they can get.
Many service stations in the Columbia area offer their own gas reward programs that could help commuters save money in the long run. Here are five reward programs offered by gas stations in the Columbia area to possibly help residents ease the pain at the pump.
Circle K Easy Rewards
Circle K service stations offer a program that rewards customers who buy gas and most other store items. To get started, download the Circle K mobile app from the App Store or Google Play store and create an account. You can also sign up for the program online from any computer at circlek.com.
You can then pick up a free reward card from any Circle K, link it with your online account and start taking advantage of what it has to offer. Customers will get a confirmation email when they are enrolled and will receive their first reward.
The program works on a point system — 10 points per gallon of gas and 20 points for the purchase of snacks, food and non-alcoholic beverages. Program participants will save $2 for every 2,000 points earned. They’ll also get access to periodic deals, sweepstakes and other rewards.
Shell Fuel Rewards
Shell service stations offer to levels of rewards. Silver Status will save customers $0.03 a gallon, while the Gold Status saves $0.05 a gallon.
To register, download the Fuel Rewards app in the App Store or Google Play or visit fuelrewards.com.
Once registering, you’ll receive Gold Status for the first six months. Afterward, you’ll need to fill up six times with a least five gallons every three months to maintain the status.
The rewards program offers more savings that can be stacked on top of your Gold Status, such as $0.10 off every gallon of gas for every $50 spent on live event tickets, $0.05 off each gallon for every $50 spent shopping online, and another $0.10 off each gallon for every $50 spent at participating restaurants.
So according to Shell’s website, if you earned $0.10 a gallon at a restaurant, $0.20 a gallon shopping online, and $0.40 a gallon on a pair of concert tickets, you could combine those with the $0.05 a gallon from the Gold Status to earn a total of $0.75 a gallon on your next fill-up at Shell.
BPme Rewards
Through BP’s reward program, customers can save instantly on every gallon at BP and Amoco stations. It too can be accessed by downloading the app through the App Store or Google Play.
Participants after they first sign up will start saving $0.05 on every gallon, every time they buy through the next month. To maintain the $0.05 reward after that, customers must spend $100 on fuel each calendar month.
The app will also periodically promote special bonus offers for additional savings at the pump.
Marathon Make it Count Rewards
Marathon’s program offers savings on every gallon of gas purchased and a points system for additional savings. To register, download the MakeItCount app or visit www.makeitcount.com.
After registering, customers will save $0.10 a gallon on their first four visits to the pump. Afterward, they’ll earn $0.05 a gallon every day.
