Shoppers, here’s your chance: Vote in Round 3 of The State’s grocery store bracket today
Now things are getting serious.
Readers showed up in virtual bunches to cast their votes in the second round of The State’s 2022 Grocery Bracket, letting us know about their favorite grocery stores in the Columbia area.
The bracket started with 16 grocers identified by members of The State’s staff. From there, readers whittled the field down to eight stores. And now only four favorites remain: Publix, Lowes Foods, The Fresh Market and Trader Joe’s.
Publix has received the most votes in each of the first two rounds. The chain that was founded in Florida 92 years ago has nearly 1,300 stores nationwide, including 64 in South Carolina. It employs more than 225,000 people across the U.S.
Now we are asking readers to trim the field down once again by selecting their top two favorites out of the remaining field in the poll below. This isn’t a scientific poll by any means, but we know readers are serious about their favorite grocers. Heck, you’re not going to buy muffins from just anybody.
You have until 11:59 p.m. Saturday, March 12, to cast votes in Round 3, the Foodies’ Four. Then look for the final round, the Tasty 2, beginning Monday, March 14.
