Lexington fire displaces family of five, Red Cross says. Second Midlands fire in a day

A house fire Friday afternoon in Lexington County left a family of five without a home, according to the American Red Cross.

The fire burned a house on South Lake Drive, the Red Cross said. It was the second house fire in one day in the Midlands.

Friday morning, a house fire on West Moore Street in Sumter displaced a family of two, the Red Cross said.

The Red Cross is giving the families money for food, clothing and shelter.
